Political deceit necessitates 3rd front in Kashmir: Vakil

Excelsior Correspondent
SOPORE, Aug 3: Former minister Abdul Gani Vaki has said that ruling PDP, Congress and the opposition National Conference shedding crocodile tears, are equally responsible for the erosion of article 370 guaranteeing special status to Jammu and Kashmir and falsifying commitments on self- rule and autonomy  by PDP and NC having discredited mainstream politics is now necessitating the formation of third front to safeguard the special status of the State.
Addressing a workers convention at Sopore in Baramulla district  Vakil said “ Autonomy resolution was passed in Assembly but rejected by erstwhile Vajpayee led NDA Government of which National Conference working President was a part as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and similarly Women’s Reservation Bill was passed by the Assembly when late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was the Chief Minister as head of PDP-Congress Coalition Government”.
Alleging that  Farooq Abdullah as Chief Minister often used to advise Central Government to bombard Pakistan and Pakistan Administered Kashmir (PAK) when he was the Chief Minister of the State with a brute two third majority 1996-2002 and Mehbooba Mufti as Chief Minister opposed third party mediation for resolution of Kashmir recently to appease Modi Government for enjoyment of power, Vakil said continuing spree of civilian killings, stubborn attitude of Modi Government on dialogue over Kashmir has necessitated formation of third front in J&K.
He called upon all anti-NC and anti-PDP forces to come forward to foil the nefarious designs of both PDP and National Conference for the formation of a third front with a commitment to protect fully the special status of the State and strengthen it.
Vakil expressed surprise that when leaders of these parties get power after exploiting autonomy and self-rule, they totally forget them but when they are out of power, they dare to speak more than what Hurriyat leaders speak and try to bypass them by exploiting sentiments of people.
Vakil also said if Prime Minister Modi wants to gain goodwill of the State he must not hesitate in directing NIA to probe the assets of the mainstream politicians who enjoyed power.
