Police verifications to be completed expeditiously

Srinagar, Apr 20: After the complaint of delay in verifications for passport and character, the police in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district today assured people that the process would be expedited and no inordinate delay shall be caused.
A police spokesman said that Superintendent of Pulwama Rayees Mohammad Bhat assured the public during an interaction that under the provisions of Public Services Guarantee Act, police is duty bound to provide services with regard to verification within a stipulated time.
“SP appealed the public whosoever requires character certificate should directly approach District Police Office (DPO) Pulwama for better and quick service,” the spokesman said.
The SP Pulwama said that for the issuance of character certificate the SP concerned is the designated officer and is bound to provide the services within 15 days.
“The first appellate for the services is Range DIG and the second appellate is Zonal IGP and for the certification of identity SHO concerned is the designated officer and is bound to provide services within seven days. The first appellate for the services is Deputy SP Headquarters concerned SDPO and the second appellate is District SP,” he according to the spokesman said.
