Police solves theft case, arrests 2, recovers stolen items

KATHUA, Sept 25: Kathua Police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua RC Kotwal has solved a theft case by arresting two thieves and recovered stolen items viz. one Golden Ring, one pair of Silver Anklets, three Silver coins and three Cameras from the offenders who were involved in the offence in the limits of Police Station, (PS) Kathua.
Police said a case was registered at PS Kathua in connection with theft vide FIR No. 370/2021 under section 454/380/IPC. Acting on the same today a police party of Police Post (PP) Industrial Estates, Kathua led by Inspector, Yash Paul Sharma Incharge PP Hatli under the supervision of DySP Headquarters, Shammi Kumar- succeeded in arresting two suspected thieves who were evaded their arrest. During sustained questioning both of the accused confessed their involvement and on their disclosure, one Golden Ring (approx. 04 grams), one Samsung Camera, one Canon Camera, one Yashica Camera, one Pair of Silver Anklets along with three Silver coins has been recovered from the possession of the two accused namely Mehboob Akhter son of Shamas Din and Irshad Ahmed son of Suleman both residents of Dodla tehsil, Basohli district Kathua. The further investigation of the case is going on and their involvement in any other case cannot be ruled out, police said.
