SRINAGAR, Apr 18: Police seized a truck today involved in hit & run case in which one person died on Chanapora bye-pass here and arrested the driver.
A Police spokesman said that few days back, Srinagar police circulated news item in print & social media regarding the identification of truck involved in hit & run case on Chanapora bye-pass near Haryana marbles in which one person had lost his life.
He said photographs of the truck involved in the case were obtained from the CCTV footage & accordingly circulated for identification & help was sought from the general public. “The circulation of news item along with photographs of truck proved very useful & finally led to the identification of the said truck with registration no JK13D 5118 and was accordingly seized and driver was arrested. In this regard, a case FIR 49/2018 under section 279, 337, 304-A RPC has been registered in Police Station Sadder and investigation is going on,” he said.
