KATHUA, Feb 16: Kathua police while continuing its war on drugs putting concrete efforts to eradicate the drug menace from the society today recovered 13.912 Kilograms of Poppy Straw (Phukki) like narcotics near Galak Naka, seized one vehicle and arrested two drug peddlers.
Police said on the overall directions of SSP Kathua, R.C Kotwal today a team led by PSI, Ravinder Thakur in charge Police Post (PP), Ramkot under the supervision of SDPO, Billawar, Arvind Kumar during Naka checking duty at Galak noticed one suspicious vehicle (truck) bearing Registration Number, PB10HJ-1635 which was being driven by a person namely Jasvinder Singh, son of Yoga Singh of Ward No. 05 Chanderlok Colony, district Ludhiana who along with his accomplice namely Ramesh, son of Prem Chand of Ghoat tehsil, Ramnagar was enrouted from Udhampur side towards Dyalachak. On thorough checking by police team 13.912 kilograms of Poppy Straw (Phukki) like narcotics was recovered from their illegal possession.
Two persons were arrested and all the recovered narcotics substance along with vehicle was seized on spot. A case FIR No. 21/2022 U/S 8/15/29/ NDPS Act stands registered at PS Billawar and further investigation is under process.
