KATHUA, Sept 24: Cracking down heavily on narcotics smuggling as well as to neutralize the activities of drug peddlers within the district, Kathua police under the guidance of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal today recovered 1000 Nos of SPM-PRX (Sapsmo Proxyvon) capsules like narcotics near Golden Gate Lakhanpur area and arrested one person besides seizing his scooty.
Police said today a team headed by Inspector, Vijay Kotwal SHO PS Lakhanpur under the supervision of DySP, DAR Kathua, Sukhdev Singh during Naka checking duty in its jurisdictional area near Golden Gate, Lakhanpur intercepted one Scooty bearing Registration Number, JK08J-9935 which was being driven by a person namely Jatinder Kumar, son of Basawa Ram of Ward No. 11 Kathua which was on way to Lakhanpur. On thorough checking, 1000 SPM-PRX (Spasmo -Proxyvon) capsules like narcotics were recovered from his possession.
All the recovered narcotics along with vehicle was seized and the drug peddler was arrested.
An instant case vide FIR No. 83/2022 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Lakhanpur and further investigation was set into probe.
