Police saves 5 youth from joining militancy

SRINAGAR, July 15: Srinagar police saved five youth who were linked to The Resistance Front (TRF) from joining militancy and arrested them.
A police spokesman said that on 8th July, Police Station Kralkhud received information that a group of youth had gathered at Babademb Naqashpora ground in the old city and were convening a meeting.
The group members were identified as Bilal Ahmad Malla son of Mohammad Sideeq Malla of Siver Harden Lolab, Haseeb Farooq son of Farooq Ahmad Bhat of Prichoo Pulwama, Shah Fahad Shabir son of Shabir Ahmad Teli of Tengpuna, Pulwama and Reyaz Ahmad Mughal son of Abdu Rasheed Mughal of Reshiwari Aawoora Kupwara.
The spokesman said that the group has had a known history of being linked with The Resistance Front (TRF) and were known to have had conversations over phone with their handlers in Pakistan occupied Kashmir. “Also, as per inputs the whole group was in a bid to join militant ranks anytime after Eid,” he added.
“Since these activities of the said group were pre judicial to the security of the country, and considering the reliable inputs about their efforts to join militant ranks, they were arrested on spot,” the spokesman added.
He said that further investigation led to arrest of another youth Mohammad Imroz Dar son of Fayaz Ahmed Dar of Bundzoo Pulwama who was also making efforts to join militant ranks.
A case (FIR No 22/2022 US 13 UAPA) has been registered in Police Station Kralkhud and further investigation taken up.
