Police rescues 4 bovines

SAMBA, June 29: Continuing its drive against bovines smuggling, district police, Samba foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing four bovines in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Samba.
A police party of PS Samba, during random vehicle checking near New Bus Stand, Samba signaled a Tata Mobile bearing Registration Number JK02CM-2362 to stop which was coming from Kathua side and moving towards Valley.
On seeing the police party, the driver accelerated the speed of the vehicle but the alert cops intercepted the vehicle few meters away however the driver managed to escape from the spot.
During checking of the vehicle, four bovines were found laden inside the vehicle without any permission. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to safer place. The vehicle used for transporting bovines was also seized on spot.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 210/2021 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Samba and investigation taken up.
