Police rescues 4 bovines, seizes vehicle

SAMBA, Jan 10: District Police Samba foiled an attempt to smuggle bovines by rescuing four animals in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Samba.
Acting on an information received from reliable sources regarding illegal transportation of bovines from Nanak Chak area, a police party of Police Post (PP) Supwal intercepted a Load Carrier Auto near Choudhary Crusher, Nanak Chak Samba which was moving towards Srinagar.
During checking of the vehicle, four cattle were found laden inside it without any permission.
However, the driver managed to escape leaving behind the vehicle. All the cattle were rescued and shifted to a safer place. The vehicle used for transportation of bovines was also seized on spot.
In this connection, a case FIR No. 07/2022 U/S 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act stands registered at PS Samba and investigation started.
