Police rescues 34 bovines, seizes 2 vehicles

KATHUA, Dec 7: Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP, R C Kotwal – today foiled bovine smuggling attempt within district, rescued 34 bovines, arrested two persons and seized two vehicles involved in the commission of the crime.
Police said a team led by Inspector, Amit Sangra, SHO Police Station (PS), Rajbagh under the supervision of SDPO, Border, Sachit Mahajan during naka/checking duty in its jurisdictional area noticed a suspicious vehicle bearing Registration Number, JK02BT-6357 which was driven by Shokat Ali, son of Khan Mohammad of Darmari tehsil Mahore district, Reasi. He was signaled to stop for checking. During checking of the vehicle 18 bovines were found loaded in it illegally which were being taken to Kashmir Valley without any permission.
The police team rescued 18 bovines, arrested one person and seized the vehicle involved. A case FIR No. 253/2021 U/S 188/IPC, 11PCA has been registered at Police Station, (PS) Rajbagh and further investigation has been set into motion accordingly.
Police said in another case a police team of PS Hiranagar under the supervision of Inspector, Yash Paul Sharma, SHO, PS Hiranagar during naka checking duty at Londi Morh noticed the movement of suspicious vehicle bearing Registration Number, JK02CC-1159 which was being driven by Ahmed Din, son of Jalal Din of Saral tehsil and district, Poonch. He was signaled to stop for checking. During checking police team found 16 bovines which were tied with ropes mercilessly. All the 16 bovines were rescued, one person was arrested and the vehicle involved was seized.
A case vide FIR No. 157/2021 U/S 188/IPC, 11PCA act has been registered at PS Hiranagar. Thus overall 34 bovines were rescued, two persons were arrested and both the vehicles involved in commission of the crime were seized. The further investigation is underway.
