KATHUA, Mar 7: Kathua police under the overall supervision of SSP Kathua, R C Kotwal, today rescued 14 bovines within the district, arrested three persons and seized three vehicles involved.
In first instance, a police team led by Inspector, Sunil Kumar SHO Police Station (PS) Hiranagar under the supervision of SDPO Border, Pankaj Soodan- while on naka checking duty in its jurisdictional area intercepted one vehicle (Truck) bearing Registration Number PB06E-9697 which was being driven by a person namely Lovely Massi, son of Shara Massi of Nowasher Maraja Singh tehsil Gurdaspur, Punjab. During checking of the vehicle, seven bovines were found loaded in it .Thereafter all the seven bovines were rescued, one person was arrested and vehicle involved was seized. A case has been registered at PS Hiranagar vide FIR No. 28/2022 U/S 188/IPC, 11 PCA Act and further investigation is going on.
While in another case a police team led by Inspector, Vijay Kotwal SHO PS Lakhanpur under the supervision of DySP, DAR Kathua, Sukhdev Singh during naka checking duty noticed one suspicious vehicle (Canter) bearing Registration Number PB35Z-1286 which was being driven by a person namely Mohammed Rafi, son of Din Mohammad of Mahi Chak tehsil and district Kathua who was signaled to stop for checking. On thorough checking five bovines were found to be loaded on it.
Later the police team also noticed one more vehicle (Mahindra Load Carrier) being driven by Mohammad Lal son of Mohammad Ismail of Karroh tehsil and district Kathua.
On thorough checking two more bovines were found loaded in the vehicle illegally. Meanwhile all the seven bovines were rescued, two persons arrested and two vehicles seized.
Two different cases vide FIR No. 24/2022 & 25/2022 U/S 188/IPC,11PCA act have been registered at PS Lakhanpur and further investigation into this matter has been initiated.
Thus overall 14 bovines were rescued, three persons arrested and three vehicles were seized.
