Police registers FIR for violence at BGSBU

*Valley students hold brief protest

RAJOURI, Apr 19: The police today registered an open FIR against the students involved in violence, besides torching and damaging vehicles during protest  at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University on Monday.
A police spokesman said that an FIR No. 199/ 2016 was registered at Police Station, Rajouri against the students/staffers  involved in burning vehicles,  stoning  and causing extensive damage to the property and also instigating the students for violence.
He said that several inputs have been received by the investigating agency with regard to the trouble shooters and it has been found that most of the vehicles torched or damaged during clashes belonged to the students hailing from Rajouri-Poonch area and few staff members.  Some of the accused have been identified and action under law would be taken against them.
During the day, the situation remained normal in the University and normal class work was also resumed by student. However, in the evening, some Valley based students held protest alleging that one of  boy was allegedly beaten up by some people when he had gone to patrol pump near Rajouri this evening.  The police however, has taken cognizance of  the matter.
