SRINAGAR: A police officer was shot dead by gunmen in this south Kashmir district Monday evening, official sources said.
They said unidentified gunmen fired at Inspector Mohammad Ashraf at Kenalwan when he was on way to home from a mosque after offering prayers Monday evening. The injured was immediately shifted to hospital where he succumbed. Meanwhile, a massive search operation was launched by security forces against the killers, they said. (AGENCIES)
