JAMMU, Jan 16: The police arrested a drug-peddler and recovered 116 grams of heroin from his possession today.
A police spokesman said that a special operation group sleuths headed by DySP, Manish Sharma laid a naka at Kalai bridge and during checking of the vehicles arrested one Rohit Koul, son of Girdhari Lal, resident of Roop Nagar, Jammu along with 116 gram of heroin. The consignment was seized on the spot and in this connection FIR No.13/ 2020 under section 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered against him at Police Station, Poonch.
Investigation has been geared up to ascertain the source and other persons involved in smuggling of contraband.
