JAMMU, Oct 11: Ignoring the court orders, Satwari police has refused to lodge an FIR against the accused persons for sexual harassment of a woman and causing damage to the property of the victims.
The victims, Dharmin Bhai and her husband Jagdish Paswan, residents of Hakkal ( Satwari) lodged a complaint against Surjeet Singh, Balwan Singh and their brothers for sexual harassment and damaging their property by using JCB and throwing them out of their hutments at Satwari Police Station on Sept 29. They alleged that even their 16-year old daughter was also sexually abused by the accused persons. But the SHO Satwari, Gurmeet Singh refused to entertain an FIR.
The victims then approached the court of Sub Judge Jammu, on October 3, 2019 and the court directed the concerned SHO to register FIR and investigate the matter. But even after the passage of one week, Satwari police by ignoring court directive have not filed FIR of the poor and hapless family, the victims alleged.
