Police holds cultural events in Valley

SRINAGAR, Feb 13: Police in its efforts to nurture the talent of the youth organised  three cultural programmes titled ‘Chona Hai Aasmaan’ in Sopore, Pulwama, Bandipora areas of the Valley.
A police spokesman said the cultural programme in Sopore was held in Police Lines Sopore in which 24 youth participated and showed their talent in Solo Singing.  Dawood Ahmad Najar bagged the first position,  Javaid Ahmad Sheikh second and Nazir Ahmad Sheikh third in the event.  “The position holders were honored with cash prizes along with trophies,” he said.
The spokesman said in Pulwama a large number of young boys and girls participated in the event with full enthusiasm and showed their talent in singing, mimicry and dancing. “There were 2 categories in the programme: senior and junior. Parents of children participated in event also attended the function and applauded the efforts of police. On the conclusion of function winner and runner ups were awarded cash prize and trophies. The lunch was also served for the all participant of the event police,” he said.
The spokesman said in Bandipora the youth from different parts of the district participated in singing and dancing.  “The 10 participants whose performance was adjudged excellent by the jury were awarded with cash prize and trophies by SSP Mohammed Shabir,” he said.
