RAMBAN, Feb 19: Police here foiled a narcotics smuggling bid in Ramsoo under operation Sanjeevani. A handout of police department stated that last night during routine checking at Ramsoo, police intercepted Innova Car bearing number JK14-8787 moving from Srinagar to Jammu and driven by one Ranjeet Singh son of Gandhrav Singh of Bhaga, Reasi.
During search of the vehicle, 1kg and 700 gm poppy straw like substance was found.
The accused person was arrested and the vehicle was seized.
In this connection an FIR U/S 8/15 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ramsoo and investigation started.
The recovery and arrest was made by a police team under the supervision of Inspector NazirAhmed, SHO Ramsoo and Dy.SP Banihal, Nisar Ahmed Khoja and with the overall supervision of Mohita Sharma, SP Ramban.
