Police foil bovine smuggling bid, 2 arrested

JAMMU, May 6: Jhajjar Kotli police foiled a bovine smuggling bid with the arrest of two persons along with 20 milch animals.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Jhajjar Kotli police station laid a naka and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AL-7095.
On seeing police party, the driver sped up the vehicle and tried to escape, but the vehicle was chased by the active cops of Jhajjar Kotli police station and intercepted at some distance.
During checking, police rescued 20 bovine animals and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Javed Ahmed, son of Ghulam Nabi of Rajpura Mandi district Poonch and Raj Kumar, son of Surum Chand of Gole Mela, district Udhampur.
A case under FIR number 44/15 under Section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Jhajjar Kotli police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Jhajjar Kotli police station SI Hilal Azhar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma, Incharge SP Rural Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
