SRINAGAR, Nov 22: A week after a girl was allegedly knocked to death by a Sumo vehicle at Bemina in Srinagar on Saturday last week, police is yet to trace its driver.
Family of the accident victim, Khushboo Aslam, said she was hit by a known Sumo vehicle after leaving the Board of School Education Office in Bemina.
Khushboo hailed from Batwara area of Srinagar and was studying at Kothi Bagh School.
The critically injured girl was removed to the SKIMS, Bemina for treatment, where she succumbed to her injuries this week. The family claimed the same driver had shifted her to hospital along with her friends.
Being shocked by seeing their friend in a pool of blood, her friends could not note down the registration number of the vehicle, the family said.
Station House Officer, Bemina, Isaaq Ahmad, said they are yet to trace the driver, and have been making efforts to nab him.
The SHO said that they are yet analyse the CCTV footage of the cameras installed at Bemina Crossing and SKIMS Hospital, which could have given leads in identifying the vehicle and its driver.
