Srinagar, Mar 3: Police and Army today arrested Police deserter turned Hizbul Mujahideen militant from South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Police and Army today received information about presence of Shakoor Ahmed Parray of Shopian in Avhotu village of Bihibagh, in South Kashmir’s Kulgam.
The operation was launched by 62-RR of Army and the Kulgam police. Parray had deserted the Police early this year and took away 4 AK-47 rifles.
Police and Army carried out the operation swiftly and no damage was done to any property or person during the operation.
His three associates were already arrested by police and three AK-47 rifles were recovered from them.
He was security guard of DySP Bijbehara when he deserted. Police have recovered one pistol, few ammunition rounds and grenades. However, one AK-47 rifle is still missig.
