SRINAGAR, Apr 5: Police in Shopian attached a residential property allegedly acquired through proceeds of drug trafficking, officials said today.
The single-storey house, valued at Rs 16.20 lakh, is located under Khasra No. 1070/360 in the Zainapora area of the district.
Police said the action was taken after the property was identified as having been purchased using money generated from the illegal sale of drugs and narcotics.
The property, police said, belongs to Khurshid Ahmad Itoo, a resident of Takiya Reban, Zainapora.
The attachment was carried out in connection with FIR No. 117/2025 registered at Police Station Zainapora.
Police said the process was executed in accordance with legal procedures in the presence of a police team, an Executive Magistrate, and local representatives, including the Lambardar and Chowkidar.
