JAMMU, June 1: On 41st death anniversary of legendary urdu and Kashmiri poet Rasa Javedani, Rasa Javedani Memorial Literary Society today organized a function through Zoom-App in which various urdu and Kashmiri scholars within and outside the state paid rich tributes to Rasa Javedani.
The program was presided over by Prof Khawaja Ekram Ud Din from JNU.
While speaking on the occasion, Aseer Kishtwari threw light on the life and works of Rasa Javedani and described him a poet having secular bent of mind who has projected the realities of life in his Kashimri and Urdu poetry.
He was of the opinion that Javedani was the tallest poet of Kashmiri language of 20th century whose Kashmiri songs had earned a lot of appreciation in the Kashmiri speaking areas of J&K.
Basher Bhaderwahi described him not only a poet par excellence but also a noble human being.
“He was the member of 1st General Council of Cultural Academy and was very close to the then Prime Minister of J&K Ghulam Mohd Bakshi,” Bhaderwahi said.
Speaking on the occasion Aftab Ahmed Afaqui from Banaras Hindu University described Javedani a poet who loved urdu languages very much.
“His Nazam written in Urdu speaks his love toward the urdu language like Mirza Galib,” said Afaqui.
Prof Khawaja Ekram Ud Din from JNU in his presidential address too paid glowing tributes to Rasa Javedani. He described him the poet of humanity who through his Urdu poetry had spread love in the society.
Earlier in his welcome address Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, President Rasa Javedani Memorial Literary Society informed that due to COVID-19, big function could not be organized in his memory as usual.
Prof Shohab while highlighting the qualities of head and heart of Rasa Javedani described him the Galib of Kashimri Ghazal.
