JAMMU, Dec 7: Pt. Prem Nath Bhat Memorial Trust (PNBMT) held series of meetings at Amar Colony, Gole Gujral, Jagti township, Tirath Nagar and Swami Kumar Ji Ashram, Muthi in order to intensify its ongoing struggle for passage of Kashmiri Hindu Shrines and Temples Bill.
The speakers during these meetings urged the Government to take appropriate steps for passage of the Bill during the budget Session of State Assembly beginning next month.
They said that the condition of shrines and temples in Kashmir Valley is deteriorating day by day due to lack of proper management and care. Moreover the land of many temples has been grabbed while some of the temples have got damaged.
The Trust said that passage of the Bill will act as a CBM with the community as the aspirations of entire community are linked to these shrines and temples which are not mere worship places for them but cultural centers linked to the ancient Hindu civilization of Kashmir.
The meeting said that preservation of these shrines and temples is must for the posterity and any further delay regarding the passage of the Bill will be inimical to the cultural history of the State also.
Briefing the members about the past struggle national spokesman of the Trust Dr R L Bhat said that Kashmiri Hindus are committed to take the ongoing struggle to its logical conclusion.
The meetings were presided by chairman of the Trust Dr Pandita in which the arrangements for observance of 27th Martyrs Day of Amar Shaheed Pt Prem Nath Bhat were also discussed.
