PMEGP opportunities in J&K

Rural economy and youth have been focus of the government, both at central and states level. It is very clear that job for each and every youth can never be guaranteed, as such always better to devise new policies to look for alternatives to this gigantic problem. GoI rightly focused on extending helping hand to the deserving youth of Jammu and Kashmir who have acumen, talent and zeal to deliver and the net result is J&K has topped the list with establishment of over 35000 new units under Prime Ministers Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP). More interesting is the fact that all this has been achieved in last three years only as in the past dynasts ensured never to pass on GoI schemes to the youth, kept them deprived of golden opportunities of honourable livelihood and instead pushed them into vicious circle of shutdowns and stone pelting. Once GoI and LG administration started working in tandem, making youth aware of the schemes, providing them skills and guidance along with easy finances and subsidies, the resultant record breaking participation of youth is for everyone to see. Strategy of government to invest in youth, make them realise their potential, grasping the available opportunities and end result is around two lakh jobs. It’s a golden handshake of government and youth, mutually beneficial conditions and situation have cemented a beautiful everlasting bond of trust and benefit between the two. It is more interesting to see major beneficiaries are from Kashmir Division, once again proving that Kashmiris were and are ever ready to work hard to participate actively in the economic progress of India, it was just question of providing them the platform to perform, the first opportunity they got, they are on the chartbusters.
