JAMMU, Jan 21: PM package employees putting up in rented accommodations in Kashmir valley held a protest demonstration against the illegal, forcible and unauthorised occupation of Government quarters by the already accommodated package employees living in Vessu Camp in Kulgam district since 2010.

The protestors with banners and placards in their hands said that these unscruplus elements have repeatedly attempted to capture these under construction quarters illegally.
“Even though facing a lot of problems, we are the law abiding people but are being deprived of basic necessities and those employees who are already in possession of the Government accommodations since 2010 are acting as outlaw, breaking rules and setting law aside” said one of the agitating employees.
The rented employees narrated that since 2010 they are facing innumerous problems having limited resources and they have to lead a compromised life as there is huge rent and they also face security risk. They alleged that their families especially their old age parents have suffered prevailing COVID conditions which worsened the things more.
The protesting employees said that they are unable to keep their families alone at rented accommodations in case of emergency at their home in Jammu. They said that they are facing the security risks as they are catered within the district and can never approach Government. In case of emergency as there is no whereabouts of them with Government security agencies. They demanded a stern action against these culprits to prevent such illegal and inhuman action in future.
They further appealed the higher authorities in the Government to intervene in the matter and stressed on issuance of allotment orders to genuine and deserving rented PM package employees, since 2010 immediately without further delay.
