UDHAMPUR, Feb 24: The monthly meeting of the District Udhampur unit of All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum, was held here today with Ashok Sharma, district president of the Forum, in the chair, for deliberating various issues confronting the Plus 2 Cadre.
The speakers rued that trainings of teaching staff, including Lecturers, Masters and Teachers were held in the month of February with only a few days for various Board examinations to commence. They urged the intervention of higher officers in the department to ensure that training of teaching staff be invariably held during summer/winter breaks so that teaching learning activities of students do not suffer. They also demanded that Confidential material for the forthcoming Board examinations be supplied at the Examination centres to avoid undue harassment of Superintendents, especially the female ones at the Police Station and added that Inspection Teams for the Board Exams should consist of the senior officers of the School Education Department/BOSE only and not of junior officials/clerical staff of BOSE and other departments.
The speakers said despite the Government’s assurance from time to time that the teaching staff will not be deployed for jobs other than their primary duty of teaching, many lecturers, masters and teachers continue to be deployed in various offices, thus adversely affecting the teaching learning activities in the schools. They also rued that the remuneration on account of duties in the Screening Test conducted by SSRB in 2013, has not been paid to the claimants even after a period of more than five years and demanded that it be paid to the claimants.
The members termed the denial of the benefit of ACP in favour of the Plus 2 Cadre as gross discrimination with the Cadre and urged the Government to extend this benefit to the Plus 2 Cadre on the analogy of Doctors, Veterinary Surgeons and Gazetted Service of Engineering Department. They also demanded creation of the post of Lecturer in Physical Education under the Head 2202 as in case of lecturers in other subjects.
Among those who addressed the meeting, included Arunesh Kumar, Rakeshwar Sharma, Luxmi Kant, Sudesh Kumar, Ashwani Kumar, Surinder Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Ram Murti, Ravi Kanchan, Bishan Sharma, Parjesh Kumar, Veena Rani and others.
