JAMMU, Feb 24: National Mazdoor Conference (NMC) today appealed the Prime Minister and Union Finance Minister to fully implement the recommendations of the Ashok Lavasa Committee (ALC) constituted to enhance and rationalize the pay bands to lower categories employees of Central and State Governments departments.
The decision regarding the implementation of these recommendations should be taken before the model code of conduct for general elections gets enforced, Subhash Shastri, NMC president said while addressing a meeting of activists here.
Pleading the cause of State Government employees and pensioners, Shastri further appealed Governor Satya Pal Malik to release 3% DA due from January 1, 2019 to State Government employees and pensioners, so that these categories would get sigh of relief from rising prices and inflation.
Shastri further appealed the Governor to suitably direct the concerned to speed up the process of regularization of 61000 daily rated workers working in the various departments of the State Government and remove the shortcoming in SRO 520.
“These daily rated workers had nursed high hopes but the cumbersome procedures and process involved in verification of engagement of these daily rated workers is rendering the well intentioned scheme to naught,” Shastri said.
The NMC president hoped that the Governor will look in to this matter sympathetically and issue fresh order in releasing 7th pay commission arrears to the State pensioners in one go, as this order has already been released for the age group of 80 years pensioners by the State Government some days ago.
Shastri also demanded enhancing of medical allowance to Rs 1000 on the pattern of Central Government pensioners to the State pensioners, releasing of all pending wages of daily rated workers working in various departments of the State Government, issuance of regularization order of 180 daily wagers workers working in rural development department of Jammu region beside, total exemption of DA from income tax slab and increasing the wages of daily rated workers to Rs 500 per day.
