Plus 2 Lecturers highlight demands

UDHAMPUR, Dec 22: The District Udhampur unit of All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum held its monthly meeting , here today under the chairmanship of Ashok Sharma, District President of the Forum.
The meet demanded the benefit of ACP(Assured Career Progression) in favour of Plus 2 Cadre on the analogy of other Gazetted Officers serving in other Departments in whose favour this benefit has been accorded. It was also demanded that the Practical Examination of the candidates of HSP1 and HSP2 be conducted after the culmination of their Theory Examination to give them more time for preparing the Theory Exam and arrangements be made to supply the confidential material and collect the answer scripts for the forthcoming Board Exams at the Centres.
The meet also demanded that the Marks Cards and Examination Forms of the successful candidates of various Board Exams be supplied immediately after the declaration of result and wide publicity be given in the print media regarding the dates of submission of forms and other information such as change in syllabi of different subjects. The meet demanded that the concerned authorities should clarify as to from where the amount of charges to be paid at the time of filing of TDS quarterly statements to the approved CAs be paid and rued that in absence of any set rules, many DDOs force the employees under their subordination to contribute pool money for being paid to the CAs. They demanded that the promotee lecturers in various subjects be adjusted in various institutions against the large number of vacancies in the Department and that the trainings be conducted only during Summer/Winter breaks. The Forum demanded that the huge number vacancies of the Class IV employees be filled at the earliest as a large number of schools are suffering due to shortage of menial staff.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Sharma stressed that the issues raised by the members be redressed by the Government at the earliest. He also demanded that other long pending demands of the Forum, which include revocation of SRO 202, upgradation of the post of Lecturer in Physical Education, regularisation of the officers/lecturers serving in the Incharge capacity in the School Edu Department etc be conceeded by the Government.
Others who spoke on the occasion, included Arunesh Kumar, Joginder Gupta, Sudesh Kumar, Ram Murti, Ravi Kanchan and Veena Rani.
