UDHAMPUR, May 19: A meeting of the District Udhampur unit of All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum, was held here today under the chairmanship of Ashok Sharma, District president of the forum for highlighting various issues and demands of the Plus 2 cadre.
Deliberating on the issue of inchargism in the School Education Department, the speakers resented that a large number of officers including Jt Directors, Chief Education Officers, principals and lecturers in the School Education Department have been serving in the incharge capacity for varying periods of time. “The incharge principals have not been reguarised since 2007 while incharge lecturers have been awaiting their regularisation for as long as seven years. Some dropout lecturers have been serving in the incharge capacity for even longer periods. Similar is the case with Incharge Jt Directors and Incharge CEOs. Many officers have since retired and some of them have left this mortal world without having been regularized,” the members said and demanded that the process of regularisation be expedited and the committees tasked with the job of verifying the documents of the incharge incumbents in the department be asked to complete the process expeditiously and the orders of reguarisation in favour of all the incharge incumbents in the School Education Department be issued at the earliest.
The members also demanded that members of SCERT be chosen exclusively from the School Education Department as these officers, having decades of experience, are well conversant with the issues, problems and ground realities of this department. They demanded the filling up of the vacancies of principals, lecturers and other cadres.
The meet also demanded that the students and the teaching staff of the Government schools, who have shown brilliant results in the exams conducted by JKBOSE, be honoured to boost their morale and serve as inspiration to others.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Sharma informed the members that a deputation of the forum had called on CEO Udhampur and demanded that the amount of Rs 67700.00 lying in his official account be disbursed to the staff engaged for the conduct of Screening Test by SRB in September, 2013. He also demanded that pending bills on account of supervision/practical/evaluation be cleared by the BOSE at the earliest.
Among others, who addressed the meeting, included Arunesh Kumar, Ashwani Kumar, Ram Murti, Mohan Lal Sharma, Verinder Kumar Laira and Veena Rani.
