JAMMU, Nov 20: A delegation of All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum, led by the State President N S Jamwal called on Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand and apprised him about the pending promotion of Senior Lecturers as Principals and also discussed the education scenario.
The delegation said that time bound promotion on the running pattern would streamline the School Education Department and bring a transparency in the system.
The forum also put forth the repatriation of Principals and Lecturers to their home districts who have completed their tenure in Ladakh and Kashmir regions at an earliest.
The Deputy Chief Minister gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured an early redressal of the demands. He also advised the teaching community to contribute their best in shaping the lives of the coming generations and hoped good board results this year.
The Deputy CM disclosed that promotions of IV class employees in the Education Department was on the cards whereas 4000 Educational Volunteers have been appointed in the School Education Department and 375 ReT teachers have also been employed. It was also established that with the efforts of the department, 380 ReTs would soon be appointed.
Speaking about the scenario of Education Department, Tara Chand stated that 1200 Masters under RMSA and 2000 I/C lecturer would soon be promoted. The State would very shortly implement the Right to Education Act which would enable Primary/Upper Primary students to have education free of cost, he added.
