Plus 2 Forum urges BOSE to recast English syllabus at Hr Sec level

UDHAMPUR, Dec 23: Monthly meeting of the District Udhampur unit of All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum was held here today under the chairmanship of Ashok Sharma, District president of the Forum.
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Sharma urged the JKBOSE to revise and recast the syllabus of English at the Hr Sec level and include the system of Practicals in English to evaluate the two important skills of listening and speaking English, which are not being evaluated under the present system of Examination. He also stressed for incorporating the basics of English Phonetics at the Hr Secondery level in the curriculum in order to improve the pronunciation and communication skills of students, which help them in later stages of life. He also stressed on the JKBOSE the need for organization of workshops on Evaluation to minimise the element of subjectivity while awarding marks to the candidates.
In the meeting, the participants demanded that transfers of the teaching staff be effected strictly under the Transfer Policy and only during winter/summer vacations and not during the academic session while training of teaching staff be also conducted during the breaks to avoid loss of studies to the students.
They also demanded that a large number of vacancies existing in the Department be filled up in the schools on priority basis, especially in those institutions falling in the hilly and farflung areas. The members also urged the Government to expedite the process of regularisation of the Incharge incumbents in the School Education Department and issue the relevant order in this respect at the earliest.
The meet also demanded the benefit of Assured Career Benefit (ACP) in favour of the officers and the officials of Plus 2 Cadre, filling up of the vacancies of CEOs, Principals etc and issue of the promotional lists of officers and officials of different Cadres.
Among those, who addressed the meeting, included Arunesh Kumar, Ashwani Kumar, Ram Murti, Parjesh Kumar and Sudesh Kumar.
