JAMMU, Aug 27: Panun Kashmir (PK) today reiterated its resolve to continue its struggle for a separate homeland for over seven lakh Pandits in Kashmir Valley to fulfill its unflinching commitment to the Margdarshan resolution for political re-organisation of the State of J&K.
It said the Centrally administered Union Territory of Panun Kashmir on the North Eastern bank of river Jehlum was the only viable solution of over 700 year long persecution suffered by Kashmiri Hindus.
The resolve was made in a day long brain-storming annual national convention of PK held here, today. The participants in the convention while strongly advocating for separate homeland for the Pandits –the indigenous people of Kashmir said that it is a necessary instrumentality to defeat Islamo-fascism and a step towards global peace and stability.
The speakers in the convention called upon the Government of India to recognize the destabilization in Jammu and Kashmir as a Jihadi war and not merely as terrorism. This recognition, it was asserted, has become an imperative necessity in case a comprehensive and decisive response is to be evolved to defeat this war.
The PK also resolved to support all the efforts leading to repealing of Article 370 and Article 35 –A of the India Constitution which are the main cause of present crisis in the State. The Convention asserted that the Hindus of Kashmir have borne the worst of the servitude of a Muslim State, which perpetrated a Hindu genocide and subjected them to a state of exile. The delegates stated that PK realizes that unless Article 370 is abolished lock stock and barrel, this servitude of Islamic hegemony would continue and the movement for repeated partitions of India will remain alive and potent.
Addressing the convention a prominent political analyst and eminent media personality Sushil Pandit complimented the PK for its nation-wide campaign to educate and awaken Indians about the real situation of Kashmir. The people of India are worried and concerned about the happenings in Kashmir, he added.
He said Indian civil society has raised the KPs issue at various foras as well as on national media. This is a big change, he added.
He strongly supported the repealing of Article 35-A and 370 of India Constitution giving special constitutional status to J&K and criticized the Government of Inda’s policies towards Kashmir.
Pandit, while putting a question mark on NIA raids on separatists wanted to know that why the first rung leadership like Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Mirwiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik were not touched and why the hands were laid on second rung leadership when the senior leaders are responsible for waging a war against nation.
In his address PK convener Dr Agnishekhar highlighted the struggle of the organization right from Margdarshan resolution of 1991 and said that PK has launched a nation wide campaign for the cause of displaced Pandits and carving out of separate homeland within Valley as this was the only solution to the problems of Pandits who have suffered 700 year long persecution through the hands of  Jehadis.
The PK leader endorsed the demand of abrogation of Article 35-A and 370 with immediate deportation of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis from Jammu saying that his organization will not look as a mute spectator to rapid demographic change in Jammu which is being done under a big conspiracy.
PK chairman, Dr Ajay Chrungoo while taking a dig at both previous UPA as well as present NDA government at Centre alleged that both failed to address the problems of displaced Pandits. He said, while the previous UPA Government believed in Muslim appeasement the present NDA has adopted the duel policy on Kashmir. The policies of both are inimical to national cause. He said that there is no option except homeland and some top ranking leaders within BJP have also realized this now and they say openly in the party circles at Delhi that Government has to accept the PK demand for a viable solution to the problem.
Chrungoo regretted that on one side Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has recently said that situation is not conducive for return of Pandits to Valley while on the other Government has issued order for appointment of 3000 more employees in Kashmir where they can’t serve under prevailing circumstances. He demanded that these employees be posted outside Valley.
H L Bhat national general secretary JKVM while fully endorsing the homeland demand said that KP community organizations should also concentrate on immediate problems being faced by the displaced Pandits also. He criticized the Government for adopting delaying tactics on passage of Shrines and Temples Bill which is the genuine demand of the community.
PK leader Dr Kshama Koul, Kashmiri Hindu Conference (KHC) convener P L Koul Budgami, vice chairperson PK Shalinder Aima, advocate Ankur Sharma and others also addressed the convention.
Three resolutions were adopted during the convention and they were presented by D K Koul vice president PK and passed through the vice vote.
PK activists, P L Raina, Dr Mahesh Kaul and Opinder Ambardar conducted the proceedings and vote of thanks was proposed by Satish Sher senior activist PK.
The evening was devoted to the aspects of culture and arts of the community with a colourful bonanza of bhajans, bellets and other musical events. The event was conducted by Sh. Opendra Ambardar and prominent artists who participated included Naina Saproo Trischal, Iqbal Kaul, Kuldip Kalla, Anita Raina, Jyoti Raina, Pankaj Handoo and Sahil Tikkoo.
