JAMMU, Apr 7: The Political Affairs Committee of Panun Kashmir (PK) held a meeting here, today under the chairmanship Prof M L Raina, its chairman to take stock of prevailing political developments.
The meeting was attended by Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president PK, Virender Raina, national spokesperson, J L Koul vice president, Upinder Kaul general secretary, Kamal Bhagati, organising secretary, Vijay Qazi, Ramesh Kaul, Ravinder Punjabi and Sameer Bhat.
Addressing the meeting Ashwani Chrungoo said PK would continue to support the nationalist forces in the State and the country in the ensuing elections. A large segment of Indian populace comprising the youth and the first time voters are enthusiastically looking for a positive change. PK is of the strong belief that the coming political dispensation in the country would support the nationalist forces in the State and would strengthen their cause, he added.
Chrungoo said over the years, the minorities of the State have suffered continuous marginalization on all fronts. The Kashmiri Pandits are systematically being eased out from the politico- administrative apparatus of the State. The continuous apartheid and discrimination of the Pandits are the issues that need to be addressed on a priority basis.
Chrungoo who toured length and breadth of Kathua -Doda and Jammu Poonch Constituency said there is tremendous enthusiasm in favour of Narendra Modi.
He said during his recent tour in various areas of Kathua -Udhampur Constituency in support of Dr Jitendra Singh there was a overwhelming support of people in his favour. He appealed the people in general and KP community in particular to be part of Modi wave.
Virender Raina said the recommendations contained in the latest report of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Home Affairs showing concern and eagerness to mitigate the sufferings of the displaced community need to be taken cognizance by State and Union Governments. He urged the political parties to address the pressing issues relating to displacement of KPs.
Meanwhile, ASKPC also held a meeting here today under the leadership of H L Chatta its president and senior vice president R K Raina in which an appeal was made to people to vote for BJP to defeat the divisive forces who are active for last 24 years in the State due to follies of Congress and NC.
