JAMMU, Aug 7: PHE Workers Welfare Association (PHEWWA), Jammu province, has decided to observe Kaam Chhoro Hartal from August 31, 2014, for pressing the Government to resolve the genuine issues of the employees and daily rated workers.
The decision was taken in a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of provincial general secretary of the Association, Subhash Verma.
The meeting observed that Minister for PHE, Sham Lal Sharma as well as concerned higher authorities of the department have miserly failed to resolve the long pending demands of the employees of the department including release of wages of daily rated workers pending for last 20-22 months.
The meeting criticized the anti-employees and anti-labourer policies of the Government and demanded regularization of all daily rated workers of the department after five years of service.
Sharma said that unlawful and criminal silence adopted by the Government over the issues of employees of the department, has compelled the Association to observe 48 hrs Kaam Chhoro Hartal from August 31, 2014.
