JAMMU, Feb 15: Emplo-yees and daily rated/ CP workers of the PHE Department held protest demonstration and dharna in support of their long pending demands at BC Road PHE complex here today.
A large number of workers, under the banner of  PHE Workers Welfare Association, led by  Subash Verma, provincial general secretary  of the organization assembled  outside the office of Chief Engineer PHE at B C Road today and held protest dharna in support of their demands. The workers from various PHE divisions/ Sub Divisions  participated in the programme.
They were demanding framing of regularization policy for all community participation  and daily rated workers who have been engaged after 1994, release of the pending wages of the workers, conduct of DPC of the all cadre of the employees and according them designation as per their nature of work.
The agitating workers were also raising slogans against the senior officers of the department and previous Government.  They warned to intensify their struggle in near future if the Government failed to resolve their pending issues.
The speakers including Mr Verma alleged that despite assurances by the concerned officers and former PHE Ministers their demands have remained unresolved. Later, they submitted a memorandum to the Chief Engineer PHE for the resolution of their pending    issues.
