MENDHAR, June 28: The PHE workers from Mendhar sub division today lodged protest as they were not paid their wages even on the Eid festival.
The workers assembled near PHE sub divisional office at Mendhar today and lodged their strong protest. They said even after the instruction of Chief Minister to release wages of workers before Eid, the Executive Engineer Poonch failed to draw the salary of PHE staff at Poonch. They said not only temporary workers, even the regular staff was also remained without wages. The daily wagers have not been paid for the last about 35 months. These workers said that they could not celebrate Eid and bring anything for their children on this festival. They urged upon the Chief Minister and PHE Minister to take cognizance of the matter and release the pending wages of the PHE workers.
