JAMMU, Aug 1: PHE Workers Welfare Association, Gandhi Nagar, organized three hours pen down strike under the chairmanship of Chuni Lal, president, today.
An emergency meeting was held at Narwal Bala, C P Station wherein demands of daily wagers were discussed which included their regularization and 30 months pending wages of daily wagers.
The meeting said that if their demands were not met by August 15, the association will have no other option than to continue the strike till decision is taken and added that any inconvenience in this regard to the general public during the strike period will be the responsibility of the Government.
Others present in the meeting were Ramesh Singh, Ravi Kumar Hans, Kuldeep Kumar, Gian Singh, Vishwa Nath Dubey, Puran Chand and Bodh Raj.
