Raising slogans in support of their demands, particularly of regularization of jobs, the protesting workers criticized the higher authorities for not releasing their wages for the last about 60 months.
They alleged that neither the Govt completed process of their regularization, nor it released wages of the workers despite repeated assurances by the authorities. They alleged that their families have been left for starvation. Even they are unable to pay the school fees of their children and feed them.
“We had high expectations from the LG but his administration has also turned a deaf ear towards our plight, they added. They pointed out that files of about 4500 daily rated workers are gathering dust in Civil Secretariat but Government is taking no decision on their regularization.
They appealed LG GC Murmu to address their long pending issue on humanitarian grounds. They also demanded that 12 voucher issue be revoked.
The protesting employees said if their demands will not be fulfilled within one week, they will come on roads against the administration and stop supply of water.
