NSF Bajaj organizes awareness camp for 3-wheeler cargo drivers

JAMMU, Dec 23: NSF Bajaj, Satwari Jammu today organized 2-day camp in Narwal Fruit Mandi, Jammu for all 3-wheeler cargo drivers, under the banner “Swasth Vahan Swasth Chalak”.
The camp was inaugurated by Dhananter Singh, Regional Transport Officer, Jammu who was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on this occasion, Dhananter Singh explained the gathering about the necessity of obeying traffic rules as well as MVD compliance. He told the Cargo vehicle drivers present on the occasion that “A Good Driver is a Good Citizen”.
The objective of the programme was to inculcate good driving habits in Cargo drivers and to promote road safety. As a part of the curriculum, training on soft skilIs of driving was given to drivers for improving their behaviour towards handling customers.
The engineers of NSF Bajaj delivered lectures on “Do It Yourself’ programme which help the drivers in maintaining their vehicles. “We feel it is necessary to impart training on use and maintenance of the vehicles to our customers,” an official of NSF Bajaj said.
Apart from the safety checks conducted on vehicles, proper medical examination of drivers was organized under the supervision of qualified doctor. Checking of eyesight and blood pressure, and general check up related to their profession was done during the programme.
Rohan Kotwal, Executive Director, NSF-Bajaj, Jammu said that they will be organizing these ‘Swasth Vahan Swasth Chalak’ camps in future also for the fitness of both drivers and their vehicles.
