KATRA, Feb 8: The PHE Employees Association held protest demonstration in support of their demands at PHE Sub Division here, which was led by provincial president of the Association Shiv Kumar Sharma and vice president Som Nath.
A large number of PHE workers from Bhawan, Adh Kuwari, Suyaad Dabri, Nau Devian, Ghar Jitto, Panthal, Kakriyal, Numayeen and Reasi participated. While addressing Som Nath expressed concern over withholding of wages of workers for which the Shrine Board has already released Rs 30 lakh to the department for disbursement amongst workers.
He also took serious note of the verbal directive of the concerned higher authorities to mark absent of workers for 20 days and prepare salary of only 10 days and threatened that such a decision would be fought with tooth and nails.  He appealed the Shrine Board authorities to get the matter probed as to why the wages of workers are being with-held.
Som Nath demanded wages for the past 18 months to the workers which have not been paid to them. Various other long pending demands were also highlighted the authorities urged to concede the same at an earliest.
Others who also addressed included Ajay Sharma, Vijay Sharma, Baldev Raj, ChuniLal, Munshi Ram, Banarsi Dass, Rakesh Kumar etc.
