UDHAMPUR, Apr 13: Water supply to several areas under Krimchi, Mansar,Sui, Sambal, Sansui, Sansoo, Magani, Lansi and Sambal Danga was stopped by PHE employees in protest against manhandling of five PHE employees when they were repairing the PHE Main water supply line at Sambal Danga in Krimchi section. The on-duty employees were not only manhandled but also locked them in illegal confinement by the assainant namely Bashir alias Bishroo.
To register their strong protest the PHE Employees Association held strong demonstration at PHE Complex here under the chairmanship of Som Nath, senior vice president, Jammu province. The association took up the matter with the concerned higher officers, who with the help of police got the locked PHE workers released.
Two PHE workers namely Bal Krishan and Suram Singh who had received serious injuries in the thrashing were provided medical assistance at district hospital here.
The protesting employees warned that such type of incidents in future could create law and order problem and the responsibility of the same shall lie on the district administration.
Others who addressed the protestors were Vijay Kumar, Rattan Singh, Suraj Parkash, Makhan Chand, Som Raj, Janat Ali, Kuldeep Kumar, Kartar Chand and Raj Kumar.
