PGTA meets Secretary Education, discusses demands

JAMMU, Jan 8: A delegation of Post Graduate Teachers Association (PGTA) met Secretary School Education Hairdesh Kumar Singh and discussed various issues related to illegal degrees obtained by in-service teachers/Masters to secure promotions and demanded deletion of names of illegal degrees holdings from the seniority list of various science subjects.
PGTA stressed the Government that the further promotion be made in a transparent and fair manner by ignoring invalid degree holders so that the department may not have to rely on routine Cabinet decisions for regularization setting aside the said norms.
The association stressed the Government to fill all the vacant posts of Lecturers in Science stream at the earliest so that the frustrations in teachers/masters may end and the studies of the students may not suffer any more.
The Secretary gave a patient hearing and assured the deputation that their grievances shall be taken care of during the course of time.
The deputation comprised of Paramjeet Singh, Naresh Kumar, Rajinder Kumar Sharma, Abdul Latief, Ravi Dass Sharma, Mohinder Pal Sharma, Rasbir Singh, Shrutikant, Samriti Sharma, Promila Sharma, Dr Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Yougal Kishore, Davinder Singh, Bhan Singh, Rampaul Sharma, Rajesh Dogra and other.
