SAMBA, Nov 10: Former Minister and MLA Vijaypur Surjeet Singh Slathia today inaugurated improvement/construction of ground at Rahya constructed by Rural Development Department completed at the cost of Rs 8.26 lakhs out of Constituency Development Fund.
Addressing people after the inauguration, Mr Slathia said Omar led Coalition Government was committed to provide all the basic amenities to the people living in remote and far-off pockets like road connectivity, power and water supply, Medicare, education etc.
Mr. Slathia said that the State and Centre has launched number of programmes and schemes to uplift the socio-economic status of the people particularly living in rural and far flung areas. He cautioned the people against the opposition, saying they have no agenda to present before the people and are resorting to politics of deceit and lie.
He asked the people to strengthen the hands of young and dynamic Chief Minister Omar Abdullah for further development of the J&K State. Slathia said that there is no constraint of funds and every panchayat would be provided adequate funds to meet the developmental needs. Mr. Slathia expressed gratitude to the people for their co-operation to the Government which reflects their faith in the intentions of the present dispensation.
Later the people of the area submitted a charter of demands to the MLA regarding pending construction of lanes and drains, providing of play ground in the school and electric poles for smooth power supply. He assured the people that their demands shall be redressed in a phased manner.
