RAMBAN, Apr 30: National Conference (NC) leader and district president Ramban, Haji Sajjad Shaheen, today said that the people reposing faith in NC is a certificate of public trust for the agenda and record of the uncompromising pro-people stance of the party.
“It has been widely accepted that NC’s agenda is the only practical roadmap that can pull the State out of the uncertainty and distress. We have demonstrated how, if supported by people, the leadership of this party can deliver on promises of forwarding movement on the resolution of the issue of J&K”, Shaheen said. He was speaking while addressing public meetings at Nagindar and Hargam villages in Mangit area of Banihal constituency.
Dozens of prominent Congress functionaries and elected panches joined NC in Hargam, Mangit and pledged to carry forward the mission of the party to steer the State to peace, progress and development.
Welcoming prominent Congress activists into the party fold, the district president said that with their joining the party will be further strengthened at the grass roots level. He exhorted the cadre to reach out to the people, identify their problems and seek redressal at appropriate levels.
During day long visit, the NC leaders took stock of the problems faced to the people and damages caused due to snow and incessant rains. Shaheen urged the administration to get a preliminary survey of the damages carried out by team of concerned officers so that the sufferers are adequately compensated.
