SAMBA, Apr 30: District Legal Services Authority (LSA) today inaugurated a Legal Aid Clinic at Dogra Law College.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by Gulchain Singh Charak, Chairman, Dogra Educational Trust.
A handout stated that Legal Aid Cell was inaugurated by Mohd Akram Chowdhary, Member Secretary, J&K State LSA and M.K Sharma, Chairman, District LSA, Swati Gupta, Secretary District LSA.
Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust and Col. (Dr) K.N Padha, Director Admn & CD Dogra Educational Trust also graced the occasion.
The Legal Aid Clinic will provide free Legal Aid and services to the needy and weaker sections of the society.
Moh Akram Chowdhary in his address emphasized upon the importance of legal aid to weaker sections in India and regarded it essential to all those who are not able to pay for legal services.
Earlier Prof. V.P Magotra, Principal Dogra Law College accorded a warm welcome to the dignitaries. He also spoke on the importance of setting up of the Legal Aid Clinic in College and assured the District Legal Services Authority Samba that all assistance will be provided for smooth functioning of the clinic.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Gurkirat Kaur, a student of 6th Sem, LLB 3years course.
