Srinagar, May 3: While the administration has failed in carrying out swift repairs of the roads that are lying in a dilapidated condition across Kashmir, the residents of Narbal in district Budgam have started repair of damaged roads by themselves.
The residents of the area were seen using concrete to fill the potholes of the roads that have made commuting or even walking difficult for the residents of the area.
They said that while the Government and the concerned department does not seem to be concerned and is not taking the work of repairing the road seriously, they have taken up the work by themselves on their expenses and are filling the potholes of the road.
“We have been waiting for the concerned department to repair the road, but that did not happen, now we have collected the money from the locals and have started the repair works,” the residents said.
The residents said that the condition of the road is such that commuting has become difficult and that prompted them to take the step. “It is better to spend some money on our own rather than waiting for the Government to the needful,” the residents.
