RAJOURI, Mar 25: The people from Jawahar Nagar area today held protest against local PHE authorities and blocked Rajouri-Kalakote road for about an hour.
The people including, women and children came out on the road at Jawahar Nagar and started protest demonstration during the day. They sat on dharna on the road and also disrupted movement of traffic for some time.
The agitating people alleged that due to strike of the PHE daily rated workers, the normal water supply has been badly affected in the town and specially in Jawahar Nagar area for the last about one week. They said due to suspension of water supply, the public is badly affected. They raised slogans against local PHE authorities and demanded that regular supply of water be ensured. Later, SHO and a Revenue officer reached there and they assured to take up the matter with the Executive Engineer concerned. Then the people lifted dharna and allowed movement of traffic.
