MENDHAR, Sept 20: Residents of Ari held protest demonstration against PDD authorities and blocked Mendhar-Surankote road for about three hours.
Reports said villagers from Gupta Mohalla and adjoining areas of Ari came out on the road near Hanuman Mandir and raised barricades at around 12.30 pm today. They started protest demonstration against PDD by raising loud slogans. The villagers alleged that for the last one month, transformers went out of order and the concerned PDD authorities failed to restore power supply. No body from the Administration came there to listen to them.
A local judge who happened to pass that road, was got struck. Later, he talked to the agitating people and wanted to know the reason of protest. The people narrated their tale of woe. The judge then talked to Executive Engineer PDD on phone who assured to restore power within two days. The people then lifted dharna.
