People protest as main path to village damaged by JSD

RAJOURI, May 16: The people of Thannamang village, falling under the jurisdiction of Darhal tehsil of Rajouri district, held strong protest and expressed strong anger against the Jal Shakti Department (JSD) for not repairing main path damaged due to setting up of filtration plant.
The protesters alleged that the District administration and Jal Shakti Department have destroyed an important and ancient path of Thannamang village. Expressing deep concern over it, people came out on the streets in protest. This path, which serves as a lifeline for around 2000 people living in the village, has suffered extensive damage, hampering their daily activities and access to essential services.
Locals told that a filtration plant is being constructed on the land along this old and traditional passage. The path along with the filtration plant has also been used for setting up of filtration plant and no passage has been left for people to walk. They told that along with the common people, this was also the route for animals which has been destroyed. These animals, which play an integral role in the lives and livelihood of the villagers, have been adversely affected by the damaged path.
The protesters demanded to restore the path as soon as possible to resolve the problem and ensure the well-being and convenience of both the villagers and their animals. They expressed that over 2000 residents and their cattle have been affected with the damage caused to the main passage to the village.
