JALANDHAR, May 16: Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), J&K Branch Office (JKBO) organized a training programme for Quality Control Personnel (QCP) of Concrete Paving Blocks at Jalandhar.
The programme was attended by QCP of Concrete Paving Blocks Industries of Jalandhar region.
The programme started with welcome address by Tilak Raj, Director & Head BIS JKBO in which he said that their main objective is to train QCP of Concrete Paving Block industry so as to raise the quality of product.
He said that through this programme, the QCPs will be imparted training on requirements, methods of sampling and tests of Concrete Paving Blocks, use of e-Portal of BIS for online effective operations of ISI Mark licences and BIS guidelines for effective implementation of Conformity Assessment Schemes.
Later, Pankaj Atri, Joint Director, BIS-JKBO gave presentation on Concrete Paving Blocks, various aspects of manufacturing processes and control points for quality production.
He also detailed about the requirements and test methods prescribed in Indian Standards through various videos on testing, along with its Product Manual.
During the 2nd day of training, the participants visited JBS Testing Lab, Jalandhar, where testing of Concrete Paving Blocks were discussed and demonstrated to them in the laboratory.
